Botox Cosmetic

How Does It Work?

Botox or onabotulinumtoxinA is an FDA approved purified protein extracted for use on humans since 2002 for treating everything from migraines to wrinkles. This protein targets and temporarily relaxes the muscles that are responsible for the unwanted facial lines.

Use of Botox is well studied with 442 articles in scientific and medical journals and has been approved in 79 countries for the treatment of frown lines and crows feet. Since 2002 Botox injections have become the most popular non-surgical, cosmetic procedure in the United States.

Millions of people are trying Botox every year. Why haven't you?

Botox Cosmetic has been used for the following indications:

To better understand your overall health, we will evaluate your medical history prior to the procedure. All issues and concerns will be discussed at this time as well as discussing treatment goals and finalizing a customized treatment plan tailored to your needs.

The areas that will be treated are marked and digital photographs are taken in order to determine the amount of improvement after the procedure.
No anesthesia is required. However, your doctor may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream. Discomfort is usually minimal and brief. Your doctor will administer a few tiny injections of Botox directly into the muscles that cause those moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows.

Approximately 10 minutes for the entire treatment.
No downtime is needed – you’re ready to get on with your day!

Your physician will give you specific aftercare instructions. Side effects associated with the injection include localized pain, infection, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising.

Normally a single Botox treatment lasts up to 3 months and takes 2 to 3 days to take effect. Results may vary by client.
